WINNER: "Best Of Show - Saltwater Fly Rod" International Fly Tackle Dealers (IFTD) show in Reno, Nevada.

WINSTON BORON III-SX Series Fly Rods - Very-fast action, high-line-speed rods offering an unprecedented level of smooth, progressive power for both fresh and saltwater. They load and throw with incredible ease, have wonderful "feel" throughout the casting stroke, and Winston's Boron III technology provides for incredible lifting strength; all in a super-lightweight frame. Whether casting tiny PMD split back emergers on a windy Missouri River day with the 4 or 5-weight, chucking sink-tip lines and giant streamers on the Madison with the 6 or 7-weight, or taking your shot at the Belize grand slam with the 8 through 12-weight, BIII-SX is engineered to handle ANY extreme fishing situation. And again, these rods load and throw so easily, you can cast them all day long with minimal fatigue. Boron III-SX Trout models (4 thru 6-wt) are equipped with beautiful nickel-silver reel seats with burl wood inserts and cigar shaped cork grips (full-wells grip optional on the 6-weight). The 7-weight and larger BIII-SX rods come standard with a striking new Superlight black anodized reel seat with fighting-butt, and proudly displays R.L Winston Rod Co. engraved on the reel seat barrel. Full-wells cork grips are standard on the 7-weight and larger (optional on the 6-weight).

MORE THOUGHTFUL ENGINEERING In the design phase, we looked at every aspect of the rod. We went with stealthy titanium-grey, hard-coated wire snake guides for zero reflection on the water. All of the guides are over-sized to eliminate line friction, and to "save the day" when a 10-pound bonefish is pulling a line-tangle through the guides at warp speed. Specially designed, agronomical Full-Wells grips allow the anglers hand to be in complete control throughout the casting stroke. Full wells grips are slightly larger than average in diameter with the neck being more accentuated to allow the angler a stronger grasp between the thumb and first two fingers. The swell in the mid-grip supports the other two fingers and the pocket of the hand. This new grip feel is super comfortable, and gives better support through the cast helping to reduce hand fatigue over a long day of blind casting. Grips are 7" long on the 6 through 11-wts (full wells grip optional on 6-wt) and 8" long on the 12-wt.

"Winston's designers took an unselfish approach with the all new BIII-SX, gathering and acting on feedback from some of the best fly casters and hardcore fly fishers in the world. I'm proud that Winston made me a part of that design team, and even more proud of what we've accomplished. A powerful, fast-action fly rod has never been easier to cast or more fun to fish."
